Nothing New Under The Sun

I love to write.  I have loved to write all my life.  I enjoyed the measure of success I had when I wrote my Web Tips in the late ’90’s, early 2000’s.  I was contributing something to the internet society, something people craved and could not get enough of to satisfy their search.  There was plenty of room to grow and write more.

Then came Web 2.0, a wonderful explosion into the internet world, a world that was no longer limited to geeks like me who programmed everything from scratch.  Now there were also blogs, blog software and web builders.  Not to mention, a plethora of web designers and blog-setter-uppers.

I took my sabbatical, spent time in Corporate Management, and here I am, in front of the computer screen doing what I love.

But, wait… What if I honestly, with full integrity, write something that has already been written?  Just because I “discover” something, does not mean it has not yet been discovered.  The last thing I would want is to be thought of as plagiarising.  But, you know, the more I think about it, there really is “Nothing New Under The Sun.”

Whether it has been written about or not, no doubt someone has thought about it, or something similar.  Granted, Web 2.0 was not on the scene back in the stone ages, but you get my drift.

So, here I write, from the heart, my discoveries in social media, both past and ongoing.  If I write something that has already been discovered, I count myself honored to have the intelligence to reach that level.

And, do let me know as credit given to the one who posted it first is always a nice touch, and I am happy to add that touch 🙂
