A Visual Way to Understand that Tweet

July 19, 2014 by Ann Smarty

Are you a big fan of Twitter? Of course you are, everyone is. And anyone who says they aren't are just fighting the urge. Twitter has become one of the most popular internet phenomenons of all time. As far as social media goes, this microblogging network is something innovative and interesting that has opened communications up in a way that nothing else ever has.

But it is far more than a place to post your every minor thought in 160 characters or less. It is actually a versatile tool with many (many, many, many!) features for you to use…

But how to explain it to a social media newbie so that it made sense? From what I hear from my parents, Twitter doesn't make any sense at all! "So should I just publish what I am doing from time to time while making sure it's less than 140 characters? WHY???"

This article is a good start to explain Twitter: How to Explain Twitter to a Non-Social-Media Person

To make your explanation more visual, consider some visuals like this infographic.

    Nice post
Twitter is one of the best social networking site . Well it gives you only a 140 character to post but is definitely more than that. Linking or posting images is the best thing we can do in twitter. Many marketing people and bloggers use its as a medium to promote their products and services . It might be some thing different for beginners but is great tool for internet marketing.

    Thank you for sharing.

The best part of twitter marketing is that it pulls a heavy amount of traffic. I find it to be the best tool of internet marketing.

Hello Adi. Yes, Twitter seems to provide a more instant gratification, like traffic, than other networks.

It has never occurred to us before to plan your tweets like this. Thanks for passing on ideas that could make our tweets a lot more interesting to others, Deb. i have never been a big fan of Twitter, but this makes a lot of sense.

I am glad you found it helpful, Sam. I think different networks cater and appeal to different people and sometimes the challenge is figuring out how to integrate those that are lower on the favorite list.

This is a great post, thanks Deborah. Like many businesses, we have questioned the value of tweeting as part of our overall communication plan. Your great breakdown not only show us what we SHOULD be doing, but what we have been omitting up till now.
    Heartfelt thanks.

Thanks, Steve. I think Twitter is a great relationship building tool, liking having IM over the internet on a telephone party line.

Nicely represented. This is how people can understand something very easily when represented graphically. This is more like a infographic type graphic which is awesome. Good creation!
