Frugal Living: Books & Podcasts

Books

  • "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey – This book provides practical advice and step-by-step plans for getting out of debt, saving money, and building wealth.
  • "Your Money or Your Life" by Vicki Robin and Joe Dominguez – This book offers a nine-step program for transforming your relationship with money and achieving financial independence.
  • "The Simple Path to Wealth" by J.L. Collins – This book provides actionable advice on investing, saving, and achieving financial independence.
  • "Wealth Without Risk" by Charles Givens – This book is a bit older and wasn't originally classified as a book about being frugal, but it has some excellent tips and has been my financial guidebook for about 30 years.  Even with its age, it still has some helpful tips, and if you want to save a bit of money, you can get the Kindle version to have on hand for those additional financial tips.

Podcasts

Once-a-Month Cooking: Books & Website(s)

Books

  • "Once-A-Month Cooking (Spiral-Bound)" by Mimi Wilson and Mary Beth Lagerborg – This book (and recipe book) is what got is started for me! The original book was from 1986, but this spiral bound version makes sense. Believe me, after the number of times I have done this, you want the book to be spiral-bound so it lays nicely in the kitchen (or digital, on the iPad LOL).
  • "Once-A-Month Cooking (Family Favorites)" by Mimi Wilson and Mary Beth Lagerborg – I haven’t actually purchased this version of the ladies’ book yet but I am so thrilled by their original book that I would imagine that this one would be just as thrilling and complementary, with additional recipes, to keep up the variety.

Website(s)

  • "OnceAMonthMeals.com" – A wonderful website that helps you create your own once-a-month cooking plan, with recipes, support, and everything you need to keep it going.
